2002 NYC Board of Education “Friend of Manhattan High Schools” Award
On May 15th, 2002, Mr. Diya Obeid received the FRIEND OF MANHATTAN SCHOOLS AWARD presented by Superintendent of Schools W.L. Sawyer for his ongoing commitment to improving education in Manhattan.
This exclusive award, bestowed on only a handful of recipients, is presented to honor members of the private sector who have shown extraordinary contributions to the youth of New York City. In an ongoing advisory capacity, Mr. Obeid devoted substantial energy, effort and expertise to consulting on administrative and organizational matters. Mr. Obeid’s involvement in this program also involved his donation of computer equipment to benefit high school students.
